Biography

Late 2008, after a three-year-break, the gentlemen of the Smalltown Nobodies decided to start looking for a new singer and to start rehearsing again. The new singer they found is called Lain Barbier. The renewed collaboration, combined with the raw vocals of Lain, resulted in an excellent debut album, which the band will be presenting during the CD release in Music Centre Total Music Schiedam.

Their music brings a melting pot of influences to a boil. Think of a mixture of Clawfinger and a bit of Dreamtheater, drenched in the raw soul sound of front man Lain. Even though the band predominantly makes high-energy Power Rock, some songs are also good to dance to.

When on stage, the Smalltown Nobodies really show what they are worth, be it at a festival or on any other stage. Within no time at all, they set the house on fire! Their number of fans increases every day. It’s impossible for them to not leave a lasting impression.

Some history…

In his early days as a puck rocker, Lain toured Europe with the SPEEDTWINS as a supporting act for The Sexpistols. With his band TURBO he recorded three albums and obtained international success. He sang/played with DIESEL, and together with producer Tony Platt (AC/DC), he recorded the CD `Too Hard To Handle` with the band NO EXQZE. He regularly performs with the ROCK CLASSICS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA (Bobby Kimball and Chris Thompson). Drummer Donald Kuijper studied the drums for seven years at the conservatory. After having played with numerous bands, Donald became part of the SMALLTOWN NOBODIES. He used to play with Vanity 4. Ruud Schoof (keyboard and guitar) played with Vangouw for many years. Vangouw managed to obtain a record deal with Red Bullet, and recorded a CD with John Sonneveld in the Bullet Sound Studio. Erwin de Brouwer (guitar) and Ed Boeser (bass) used to play with Thanatos. And Ber Boeser.... well, he tries his best (and like his brother says..... he’ll always be my brother!!!)
